Downtown Area

The downtown area of The City. It's home to many buildings that appear to be government based like court houses while also containing lots of stores and restaurants.

As Shirou stared at the discounted pork in the supermarket he was internally debating what he wanted to make for dinner. It was strange to think not long ago he was fighting for his life in a magic ritual but after defeating Gilgamesh and destroying the Grail. Things in Fuyuki had seemed to finally return to normal, now he was preparing for the next chapter in his life journeying to London with Tohsaka.

But for now he would continue his usual routine of cooking dinner for everyone at home. But as he reached down to place the meat in his basket his vision suddenly became blurred and then surrounded by darkness.

Shirou blinked a few times, his guard now raised by the suddenness of the feeling. He was still in a market but everything seemed different now, the items in his basket were unrecognizable and not the usual brands he was familiar with. The store was similarly unrecognizable, it was far smaller and he could no longer hear the bustling activity of shoppers but a single man talking at the front desk and... A groan behind him?

He wheeled around and saw a familiar face on the ground.

"...Tohsaka?"

"Emiya....kun?" Rin asked confused. The last place she had been was waiting at his house for him to come home from picking up the ingredients for dinner and now she was outside with him. Not to mention this wasn't what the Fuyuki market looked like. While they had both experienced strange things even by their metric as mages this was unusual.

"Where...are we?"

"I wish I knew," Shirou said flatly. "Are you okay?"

He looked around the supermarket it seemed rather normal and there were no immediate signs of danger. Though he was calm for the most part Shirou was racing through his thoughts to try and think of an explanation for all of this but no answer seem to come to mind. He found his eyes drawn to the front of the store where a young man was looking intently at a map. He seemed to stand out from the other people in the store who seemed unbothered by their apparent confusion. Maybe once Tohsaka recovered they could ask him some questions.

"Y-yeah I'm fine just...confused..." Rin said stammering a bit. Sighing and then collecting herself, the magus looked around at her surroundings. While this place wasn't anywhere she had been before, it didn't look too different from the supermarkets in Fuyuki. However despite that Rin could see the differences. Sighing again Rin figured that they couldn't just stay here. They would probably find out more by asking around or looking.

"I guess we should start looking around to see if anyone else is as confused as we are about what happened."

"Okay," Shirou nodded. "I think I saw someone."

He placed down the basket, no use buying anything when they didn't know where they are, and motioned for Rin to follow him. It was a little awkward to approach a stranger especially when they were reading but there was little choice in the matter. Shirou thought for a moment on how to approach this before clearing his throat to announce his presence.

"Excuse me, do you happen to know where this is?"

Light turned his eyes up from his map when he heard the unfamiliar voice. "Are you.... lost?" He asked still feeling slightly on edge.

"Yes actually," Shirou said nervously. "I'd hate to bother you but I couldn't help but notice that map you were reading. My friend and I... Can't seem to remember where we are."

"So, you can't remember how you got here?" Light asked, is it possible that he'd really found more people who'd been displaced here. "... I suppose I don't mind sharing my map," he held it out to the stranger with an apologetic look on his face. " but I don't know if it'll really help all that much."

"Hm Light doesn't this guy seem kind of weird?" Ryuk said, his ever present grin plastered onto his face.

"Maybe he's stranded here like we are."

"Thank you. Sorry for the trouble."

Shirou accepted the map from him and took a look within. He scanned briefly and then frowned heavily. There was nothing familiar at all about this city, the names, streets and event the city itself didn't resemble anything he had ever seen before.

"Tohsaka... Have you heard of New Duckberg? Is it somewhere in America?"

"New...Duckberg?" Rin said as she tried to remember from her classes any mentions of a city with such a strange name.

"Not that I recall...." The magus continued before trailing off. It was possible that she just didn't know of it but considering the circumstances it seemed more bizarre then that. Could this possibly be a reality marble? But if it was one, it was way more intricate then Archer's had been. Not to mention to obtain a reality marble in life was near impossible and the Grail had been decommissioned. It would be nearly impossible to summon a servant without it.

Rin groaned as none of the possibilities she thought of seemed to make sense. For now it was a complete mystery to her and she hated that.

Judging by Rin's face Shirou could tell she had no idea where they were even with this new information. And if her talent couldn't devise what had occurred no doubt anything he recommended wouldn't be helpful at all. Shirou sighed and returned the map to the polite teen.

"Here's your map back," Shirou said. "Sorry to bother you."

"Really it was no trouble at all." Light said with an apologetic look. "It's just..... forgive me for intruding, but it doesn't seem like the map actually helped you."

Normally Light would have found an excuse to duck out of the conversation at this point but today was far from normal. If he played his cards right he might be able to find out if these two were really transported here just like he'd been. He had to do this carefully, if they were normal people and his actions were too unusual they might cause a scene, but if they'd also been teleported and he acted too normal he'd loose his chance to find out if they knew anything he didn't. "Were you looking for somewhere specific? or maybe.... are you from out of town?"

"Well... Yes actually." Shirou said. "My friend Tohsaka and I well... This may sound strange but we're from a city called Fuyuki in Japan."

He shrugged aware that unless he was in a similar situation he was about to sound rather strange to the polite boy.

"We thought we were still there just a moment ago... Tohsaka wasn't even with me and yet well. We're here."

That had gone almost laughably perfect. "Actually that's a relief I thought maybe I was the only one." He extended a hand out and smiled. "My name is Light Yagami and up until about three hours ago I was in Tokyo."

Shirou smiled and took Light's hand. "It's good to meet you. I'm Shirou Emiya."

He looked a bit sheepish as he shook. "I don't want to insult our situation but it makes it a little easier to know we're not alone. I was worried you'd think I was crazy."

"Hey master, do you ever wonder what actually happens if we cross running water or get stuck in it, I mean I'd never do it because I don't wanna tempt fate, but it keeps me up during the day."

As it turned out entering the city did not alleviate any of their mysteries, only adding more.

Like who got to name the city New Duckburg, and what happened to the old Duckburg or where they even were. Seras wasn't even sure what country this was.
