Faces Of Natura

Throughout the history of Natura. Countless people have been born, lived and died their names known only to those who knew them or any information that cared to record them. But there are those whose name's transcend the march of time itself, who remain unforgotten among the hearts of Natura's people. Some may call them myths or legends, but the evidence of their existence is stories that live on in the hearts of the people who refuse to let them fade away.

Information: The first great chief of the Cerddwr people, called 'the Uniter' by many as well, though primarily she is known for uniting the displaced peoples into a nomadic tribe. Historically, it is said that she was a leader in the the war that consumed the Dal Empire, primarily believed due to art depictions to be from the Mountain Tribes. Not much is left on the Mountain Tribes because they had no written history, but the survivors that had become part of the Cerddwr had said that before the "great war", Enonon was responsible for uniting the Mountain Tribes against an ancient incursion that is now believed due to archaeological evidence to be the Sang'Tzopiloatl. The mythological stories further cement this story as Enonon was said to have stormed Sorath and fought against their ancient god and defeated it.

One version of the story says that Enonon was a foreigner even to the people of Avion and came out of the north, which leave most to believe that she might actually be Dalian or of another northern ethnicity. Marcian has been suggested as well.

She was the last of the fabled Sky Riders, and also kept a Carnotaurus named Chogonorath. After the great war, she and the survivors of the Dal Empire reunified into the Cerddwr people.

She died at an old age, making a pilgrimage to an unknown place far north before dying and being buried there by her children. It is now believed whatever land she made her pilgrimage to was her original homeland. Though it is said she died before reaching there and that her children made the rest of the journey for her.

Name: Karet of Marcia I

Information:
Karet of Marcia I is a potentially fictitious, potentially real life figure spoken of and known by Marcians every where. It is said that he was the first chieftain of Marcia to tame Rikas ((More well known as Triceratops or Trikes)) in a well known tale told around Marcia frequently. He is also claimed to have led Marcia during what's said to have been a war with giants. However, there is no known archaeological evidence for the existence of Karet of Marcia I beyond legends. Newer arrivals have compared him to Maui, Heracles, and King Arthur. Most likely a conglomerate of many figures into one.

Name: Unegen Khan

Information: Born Tamachag, Unegen Khan is a legendary figure in the history of Sandova. Known as "The Great Conqueror" he is hailed in history as being the man who conquered the divided steppes of Sandova and formed the Timijinn Empire. Legend says after his father's death and his succession, he dreamed of uniting the north under the banner of his clan thus bringing peace to the north and forming what is said to be one of the largest Empires in Naturan history that spread from Sandova to Europa. The exact truth behind this Empire is unclear but there has been archeological evidence showing signs of Timijinn weapons, equipment and suspected corpses in regions far from Sandova, though other experts believe this ties into the "Great War" mentioned in several cultures history. However their is little debate that Unegen Khan existed seeing as 70% of the population of Sandova are direct blood descendants of his bloodline. Even the mysterious Chinuan minority.

Name: Barca Odanwe of Mazani

Information: In the lands of Crenda, few names are more well known than Odanwe of Mazani. Born into a lineage of warrior generals known as the "Barcas" the sworn protectors of peace in Crenda. Odanwe's life is recorded in the historical lores of several cultures, within Crenda among the Mazani Nation of his birth he is remembered as a Uruzai and is famed as the son of Zanani himself. Though more historically accurate reports exist what is known is that Odanwe was a well traveled figure in Naturan history as he traveled from Northern Copiaevum all the way to Aurelia in his lifetime. Odanwe is a personality of myth and lore, often appearing in popular culture along with his beloved wife, Lady Hibiki Honda whom according to lore were married to seal an alliance.

Name: Hibiki Honda

Information: Hibiki Honda is a well known figure in Ribakuran legend. Was the heiress of the legendary Honda Clan, one of the largest clans in it's time that would play a central role in the Ribakuran lore of the ancient wars. In her youth it is claimed Hibiki was the leader of a merchant fleet and during her time met a young Odanwe Of Mazani before he held the title of Barca. As part of his trials, Odanwe was required to form a friendship with a unknown people he took to the sea and encountered the fleet of Hibiki. They returned to Aurelia where Odanwe met Lord Shiro Honda who took a liking to the young Odanwe and agreed to form an alliance of kinship via marriage. An agreement that Odanwe and Hibiki eventually agreed too thus sealing the alliance between the Mazani Nation and the Honda Clan. This Alliance is hailed to have played a key role in the ancient "Great War" as Lady Honda led a great fleet into battle against the armada of the Empire of the Heavens alongside her husband. She is a iconic figure in Ribakuran lore.

Name: Anaya Oka

Information: Anaya Oka is a legendary name among the field of science and popular culture in modern Natura. Born to a family of humble animal breeders in Crenda, Anaya grew up with a deep love for animals and the outdoors. She pursued an education in science wanting to learn more about the wildlife of Natura, upon entering a local college and studying biology, she met her teacher a woman named Tabitha Rivers who was a paleontologist and biologist. Anaya spent much of her youth as an apprentice to Tabitha and gained invaluable knowledge in field research and knowledge. Upon graduating, Anaya Oka wanted to follow up on a lifelong dream to travel the world gathering supplies she ventured out alone into the untamed portions of the world and for twenty years ventured across the world seeing new sights, meeting new people and perhaps most importantly closely researching the life of Natura.

She monitored and closely studied animals making grand discoveries and recorded her findings in great detail. She would eventually return home to Crenda completing her journey and assembled all her research and wrote a book chronicling her journey and findings that would be titled as The Wild World Of Natura. Her book was a massive hit and was praised across the world, adaptions were even made for entertainment. But Anaya was never one for stardom and returned to the field, becoming a teacher much like Tabitha Rivers who inspired her and guiding her students.

She would continue to work until her retirement with age and eventual death. Where her children and students continue to work as researchers and still update the Wild World Of Natura in her stead.

Name: Chono Khan

In Naturan History there are few figures more infamous in history then that of Chono Khan and the history of her life. Born Chagan Chinua, she was the daughter of the legendary Unegen Khan but the circumstances of her birth were ominous she was the born from a Neanderthal slave which caused fear among the clan. But her life was spared by the mercy of her grandmother who took in the child after her mother's death. It was foretold that great bloodshed would enter Chinua's life and Unegen Khan took this fortune to begin his great campaign to unite the Sandova under the Timijinn Clan.

Much of Chagan Chinua's youth was spent by her father's side. Because of her hybrid status, she was raised as a warrior like many of Unegen's sons and after earning the right to be a Keshik took up the fabled mount Sarkhan, a hybrid of a Nanuqsaurus and a Tyrannosaurus Rex the symbol of the Timijinn Clan's power. Chagan Chinua bonded greatly with her father during this time, becoming his right hand she served dutifully. It is even told that Chagan Chinua participated in the agent Unification War, the details of which have mostly been lost to history partly due to the later actions of Chinua's own life.

This is where the true legend of Chagan Chinua begins. After the end of the fabled Unification Wars, an uneasy peace settled over Copiaevum. For the Timijinn Empire has expanded greatly from Sandova and into Marcia, with some minor colonization efforts into Salzaan. Unegen Khan was entrusted with land by a fallen ally with the Unification War but this expansion of the Timijinn Empire raised concern among the remaining allied powers. Especially due to the expansion of some of the Empire's less savory ideals such as slavery and the forcible expansion of Timijinn Culture over local ones. To some extent this was kept in control during Unegen's life but when the faithful day came that Unegen Khan became sickly with age the lingering scent of war loomed.

Unegen Khan contracted a fever while traveling in Europa, as he lay dying he became incoherent and would rant madness. But on the day of his death he made a final declaration that Chagan Chinua would be the next ruler of the Empire. Chagan Chinua already an experienced commander and an enforcer of Timijinn Law, quickly accepted her father's decree and was given a the new name of Chono Khan. But Chono Khan's ascension to power was an unpopular one. Unegen Khan's brother Chaghagan protested Unegen's decision for Chinua to become Khan and questioned why it was not one of her many brothers. Chono Khan responded to this challenge to her authority quickly and mark the beginning of her legacy of blood.

A great feast was held in celebration of the Timijinn Empire and it's new Khan. All the children of Unegen Khan were gathered and feasted and danced together, even Chaghagan was present. But as the festivities drew low and the attendees were tired from eating and drinking, a massacre unfolded. Keshiks loyal to Chono Khan entered the feasting area and slaughtered Chono Khan's siblings and their families. Chono Khan herself personally cut down her uncle while under the pretense of making peace with him. This terrible night would come to be known as the Kinslayer Tragedy and news of it spread across Natura.

For a time the Kinslayer Tragedy caused a tense peace in the Empire. But Chono Khan realized that the burning fury of the people had to be directed. The Timijinn Empire began expanding once again into the vulnerable Europa which was rebuilding from the devastation of the previous war. Clan leaders and high ranking warlords who were displeased with the tragedy now had the distraction of conquest to appease their wrath toward the Khan and a bloody conflict too place. This act was the final straw for some within the empire and they began rallying behind a leader, Arik, Chono Khan's brother and sole survivor of the Kinslayer Tragedy after he was spared by the Khan.

Horrified by his sister's actions, Arik rallied allies from within the Empire with Timijinn and the people under their authority. He then reached out to the other powers of Copiaevum who offered what limited support they could in this time of struggle. What Chono Khan intended to bring peace to the Empire led to the outbreak of a bloody civil war. The subjugation of Europa ended as rebellions and uprisings took place across Imperial land, Chono Khan soon found out she was betrayed by her own brother and led the campaign against Arik's rebellion.

A long and bloody ten year conflict ensued finally ending where it all began on the fields of Sandova. Arik and Chono Khan faced each other in the middle of a bitter winter and engaged in a massive battle with all of their remaining resources. The battle lasted approximately two months and by the end all that remained where husk of the once great armies. It is said that by the end only Chono Khan and Arik remained bitterly dueling until they either killed each other or succumb to the winter weather.

Their deaths marked the splintering and eventual end of the Timijinn Empire. The great empire fell and the remaining powers of Natura moved in to ensure that such a tragedy would never be repeated. This marked the end of the Age of Trial and the beginning of a new era of expansion.
